What is your role in Growing Calidonia?
As members of Calidonia, we have been given an awesome blessing and, with that blessing, an awesome responsibility. Your role in Growing Calidonia consists of faithful support of our Church ministries. Your role also extends to the financial support of the Church’s vision. Although financial contributions will vary, you should only be concerned with the sacrifice you are willing to give to make God’s vision for Calidonia a reality. Think about how you can impact the vision.
PRAYER COMES FIRST
Prayer lays the foundation for all of our works. Ask God what He desires to do through Calidonia. Then ask God what He wants to do through you.
OUR GOAL
We want to continue to sacrifice to sustain our new worship facility and fulfill God’s vision.
NOT EQUAL GIFTS, BUT EQUAL SACRIFICE
This phrase refers to the principal of proportional giving and reflects Christ’s words when He commended the poor widow who gave two coins -
all that she had. This is an important concept to remember as we each consider our level of consistent commitment to the task that has been laid before us. It is also important to remember that sacrificial giving is above and beyond your tithes and offerings. We pray that everyone will participate as God has blessed them.
Your contribution to the Growing Calidonia should be an act of stewardship. As such, there is no certain amount that you must give to Growing Calidonia and you should not compare the size of your gift to that of others. Instead, your decision should be one made upon faithful reflection and counsel with God. Your decision should be one that makes a real
difference in shaping your life and the community through Christ. Sacrificial giving is just that, a sacrifice; a kind of worship that genuinely honors God. Therefore, your decision is not a matter of simple mathematics to determine where God fits into your budget, but instead a matter of determining what more you can do to honor God. When we genuinely honor God with meaningful, worshipful, sacrificial giving, remarkable things happen in our lives.
